The Story:
We (Fredrik Carlsson, Viktor holmlund) started this archive officially the 19 of january 2004 and when you read this you are using the third version of our web interface. The number of people that are using this service grows every month. So why did we create a mail archive? I can't give you a smart answer to that :) I guess it was beacause we thought it was a fun and practical service.Archiving:
The current machines are running on donated hardware. System information of our servers: http://www.netbsd.se/maskiner.phpThe data is stored using MySQL which serves our needs very well. Every mail is checked with SpamAssassin to determine its legacy.
Privacy:
This is the tricky part, but I'll try to clear out a few things:- First of all we only archive public lists.
- We respect the x-no-archive tag and mails that are tagged with that are dropped by our archiving software.
- Email addresses are manipulated to make email harvesting harder.
